Lina Fern McKnight

A graveside service for Lina Fern McKnight, 81, of Newark, OH, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2025, at Smith Chapel Cemetery.

Lina passed away July 7, 2025, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Care Center. She was born July 25, 1943, in Coshocton, OH, to the late Francis E. Wilson and Sarah V. (McCoy) Davis.

Lina worked for the Newark City School and Granville School systems, where she inspired countless lives with happiness as the lunch lady. She cherished every moment spent with her loving family. She blossomed through friendships she nurtured at the Village on Main, where she adored the staff, residents, and activities including bible study, bingo, and horseshoes. Thank you to all the staff and residents for enriching her life.

Lina is survived by her brother, James Wilson of Coshocton; nephews, Jeff (Debbie) Wilson of Columbus, Greg (Peggy) Wilson, Robert Walker, and Randy Walker all of Coshocton; niece, Marsha (Dennis) Wood of Coshocton, and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald McKnight, and sister, Myrna J. Walker.
