Linda "Mo" Jean Hunkins, 76, of Newark, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 3, 1949, in Newark to the late John and Leah (Baughman) Maddux.

Mo shared her passion for music as a piano instructor for more than 50 years, inspiring countless students with her talent and patience. She also served as pianist for several local churches throughout her life, most recently for her home congregation, Hebron Church of the Nazarene.
A lifelong animal lover, Mo devoted her time and compassion to volunteering with the humane society and local animal shelters. Her home was always filled with the warmth of her beloved cats and dogs, who were her constant companions.

She is survived by her sons, Matthew (Jennifer) Hunkins and Michael Hunkins; and her cherished granddaughter, June.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark.
