Obituary

Lowell "Pee Wee" Woodward Bowers, age 86, of Newark, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, at the Embassy of Newark Nursing Home. He was born in Licking County on September 24, 1938, to the late Clyde A. and Mildred (Woodward) Bowers.
After high school, he served in the United States Marine Corps until 1958. Lowell retired from Bayer USA in 1999. He was a member of Moose Lodge #499, Mound Builders Euchre League, Licking County Old Timers Association, AmVets #51, New Home Masonic Lodge #338, Teheran Grotto, and a Shriner. He had a lifetime love of baseball, softball, playing cards, and washing cars as anyone who knows him can attest to. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survived by his wife of 65 years, Nancy Louise (Sturm) Bowers, his children and their spouses, Tina (John) Chow of Mason, Ohio, Julie (Robert) Wilkins of Chugiak, Alaska, Renee (Jason Prior) Prouty of Heath, and Lowell (Ruthie) Bowers of Ormond Beach, Florida; grandchildren Robert Jay Wilkins, Andi Pound, Brittany Fincato, Brittany Wolfle, Kelli Prior, Jada Bowers, Tyler Chow and Danay Prouty. And several great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Arlean Bowers, Lois George, Clyde Bowers, Wilfred Bowers, and Lyle Bowers.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Hospice of Central Ohio and Brittany Fincato and her team at Embassy of Newark Nursing Home.
Visitation will be held from 10am - 12pm Monday, December 30, 2024, with a 12pm Masonic service at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st, St. Newark, Ohio 43055, followed immediately by a graveside service at Hanover Cemetery, Terry Hill officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lowell's memory may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd SE, Newark, Ohio 43055 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
