Marilyn June (Cooperrider) Mills, age 94, of Newark, OH, went into the loving arms of her Lord Jesus Christ on February 22, 2026. Born on June 5, 1931, in Gratiot, OH, a daughter to the late Floyd Cooperrider and Helen (Claggett) Cooperrider/VanWey. Married to her beloved Joseph on June 8, 1952, in Gratiot United Methodist Church. Even though family was her world, God was her strength and salvation to where she is now. Constant prayer for each family, friend and neighbor who would seek her wisdom became her claim to fame. The thing she knew best was to go to God first. She led a fulfilled life as a homemaker and devoted and loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Marilyn was preceded (now reunited) in the untimely death of her husband, Joseph Edward; sons, Craig Allen and Bradford Lee; as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Forest (Peggy) Cooperrider; and sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine (Lawrence) Clark. Survived are son, Douglas (Carla); daughter-in-law, Lisa; daughter-in-law Netia Jo and only daughter, Jolene (Steve) Birtcher. She has 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren with another great-granddaughter due in May; her loving cat, Noel. She above all loved her precious nieces who cared for her like their own mothers. Calling hours are from 1-3 and 5-7 on February 26, 2026, followed immediately by a 7 p.m. funeral service at BRUCKER AND KISHLER FUNERAL HOME, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, Ohio 43055, Dr. Shane Johnson officiating. Final interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Johnstown, OH.
