Obituary

Marjorie "Marge" Ann Hitchcock, 98, of Newark, died Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born December 15, 1925 in Newark to the late Edwin and Ruth E. (Moler) Deutsch.

Marge was a member of Heath United Methodist Church. She graduated from Newark High School class of 1944. She worked in the Lakewood School District from 1970-1983 as a bus driver. She loved to go on cruises and travel. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with her friends. Marge was a loving lady who never met a stranger.

She is survived by two sons, John E. (Julie) Hitchcock and Jeffrey A. (Linda) Hitchcock; daughter, Peggy (Tom) Turpin; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth F. Hitchcock (2001) and one sister, Mary Alice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Marge to the Licking County Humane Society.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 11-12 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where a memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Belt officiating.
