Mark "Rookie" Cooperrider

A funeral service for Mark "Rookie" Cooperrider, 69, of Newark, OH, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2023, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Cory Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow at Barnes cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.

Rookie passed away December 18, 2023, at his residence.  He was born October 5, 1954, in Thornville, OH, to the late Lewis and Joanne (Mincer) Cooperrider.

Rookie was a 1973 graduate of Sheridan High School. He was a United States Navy Veteran, who worked at the Newark Air Force Base for 20 years, and then later worked at Bionetics Corp.  He was an avid OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns Fan. Rookie loved watching his girls and grandchildren play sports. He also enjoyed golfing and guy trips to Key West.

He is survived by his wife, Carol (Carpenter) Cooperrider; daughters, Hillary (Mike) Selva, Rachel (Nick Minosky) Woods, Stephanie (Kevin) West, and Kylee (Braiden Workman) White; sister, Candy (John) Strawser; grandchildren, Olivia Selva, Paisley Woods, Bennett Minosky, Trevor and Cooper West, and Acen Workman, and several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
