Mark Dennis Gayheart, 72, of Heath, died Friday, September 27, 2024 at Grant Medical Center. He was born January 23, 1952 in Newark to the late Hauley Gayheart and Lois (Brehm) Fulk.

Mark attended Lakewood Schools until his Junior year when he transferred and later graduated from Heath High School class of 1970. He worked most of his life in a factory. He worked at Phelps Dodge where he was union president and retired from International Paper. Mark was an avid outdoorsman and had a passion for hunting. He rarely missed an opportunity to hunt Whitetail Deer with his son and close family friends Larry and Brian. He was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 387. He played in the Men's Land of Legend Pool League for over 40 years.

He is survived by his son, Matthew (Alana) Gayheart; granddaughter, Autumn; half brothers, Dean (Sheila) Fulk, Dana (Luann) Fulk and Mike (Randi) Gayheart; and half sister, Sandi (Chris) Laughlin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mark to the Food Pantry Network of Licking County.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 4-7 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21s St., Newark. A funeral service will be Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow the service at Wilson Cemetery.
