Newark
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mark Allen Sheets, 67, of Newark, Ohio on July 8, 2025. Mark was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and a cherished friend to many. He will be remembered for his kind-hearted nature, his unwavering generosity, and his unrelenting passion for classic cars.
Born on March 4, 1958, in Harlingen, TX, Mark moved to Newark at the age of 5, but never lost his love for the great state of Texas and the Dallas Cowboys. He graduated from Newark Senior High School and later earned a degree in Technical Studies from the Central Ohio Technical College.
He had a lifelong love for classic cars, dedicating much of his time to collecting, restoring, and sharing his favorites with friends and other enthusiasts at local car shows. Mark's passion for people and cars made him a beloved figure in his community, especially with fellow members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Lodge, where he loved to spend time with friends. His outgoing nature left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
Mark is survived by his sister, Bonnie Rader; nephews, Jonathan (Kacie) Rader, Zachary (Sarah) Rader and niece, Bethany (Jeffrey) Richards; great nieces and nephews, Cameron, Thomas, Nell, Lenora Rader and Elizabeth Richards; his dear friend, Trisha Wilson, and many others. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Phyllis Sheets. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those who were touched by his generosity, humor, and love for life.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, OH, 43055. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 19, at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home, with Pastor Wes Humble officiating. Family and friends are invited to share memories and celebrate Mark's life during this time. Immediately following a graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM at Wilson Cemetery, 4254 Marion Road, NE, Newark, OH, 43055, where Mark will be laid to rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Licking County Humane Society, in honor of Mark's memory.
