Marlin L. Lear, 72, of Hebron, OH, passed away April 19, 2026, at his residence. He was born May 4, 1953, in Rodney, OH, to the late Garland and Helena (Beck) Lear.
Marlin retired from AEP and embraced a life filled with the simple things he loved most. He enjoyed spending his time exploring flea markets and attending auctions, always on the lookout for unique finds. A skilled craftsman, Marlin had a passion for wood carving, often creating detailed birds and animals by hand. He also found great satisfaction in working outdoors, whether using his chainsaw or splitting wood. These hobbies reflected his hardworking spirit and appreciation for both creativity and nature.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Della L. (McDaniel) Lear; sister, Jean (Bob) Beach; sister-in-law, Becky Lear; brother-in-law, Chris McDaniel, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eileen (Doc) Sanders, and brothers, Gary Lear and Dale Lear.
