Martha Jane Nelson, 69 of Newark passed away on January 31, 2025 at Arlington Care Center. She was born on December 7, 1955 in Newark, OH to the late Darl Dean and Ethel Rosella (Shipley) Mitchell.

Martha was of the Apostolic faith. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, butterflies and country music. Most of all she loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Larry Wayne Nelson, Sr.; daughters, Jennifer (Randall) Ward, Darlena (Joe) McGuire, Amy Morrow and Beth (Todd) Toomey; grandchildren, Ashley Loar, Daphne (John) Waites-Kimple, Matthew Ward, Alex Ward, Malcolm McGuire, Mackenzie (Abbey) McGuire, Joseph (Kayla) McGuire, Devin (Christine) McGuire, Dalton McGuire, Dillon McGuire, Aziah McGuire, Kiannah (Tyler) Adams, Megan Morrow, Andrew Morrow, Danielle Balser, Zachery Balser, Noah Balser and Karlie Toomey; 12 great-grandchildren, brothers, Clayton Mitchell, Darrell Mitchell and Carl Luckeydoo; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Frances (Butch) Cramer and Shirley Hindman; brothers, Donald (Trudy) Luckeydoo and Pete (Janey) Luckeydoo; and sister-in-law, Darla Mitchell.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
