Mary Martha Dwiggins, 90, of Hanover, Ohio, passed away on October 5, 2026. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was known for her beautiful smile, wonderful sense of humor, kind heart, and devoted nature. She truly never had a mean bone in her body. Always ready for an adventure, Mary had a remarkable ability to find joy in life and in the people around her.
Mary was the beloved wife of Chuck Dwiggins, with whom she shared 40 years of marriage. She loved every minute of being his wife and treasured the life and memories they created together. As a military wife, Mary embraced the adventures that came with military life and enjoyed traveling across the country with Chuck and their children.
Mary was the daughter of Ruth Rogers Melick and Otto Melick. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chuck Dwiggins; her parents, Ruth and Otto Melick; and her children, Michael Dwiggins, Mark Dwiggins, and Christina Small.
She is survived by her sister, Madeline “Midge” Shepherd; her grandchildren, Michelle Dwiggins, Bryan Dwiggins, Sara Dwiggins, Makenzie Donegan, Amanda Lambert, Amber Dwiggins, Tiffany Hague, Jason Beckett, and Samantha Castle; and many cherished great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Bowling was a special part of Mary’s life. She proudly worked at Valley Lanes for 30 years, where she formed many lasting friendships and created countless memories. She loved bowling and coaching and was honored to be inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. She also enjoyed watching sports, crafting, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Her quick wit, infectious laughter, and ability to find humor in everyday moments brought joy to those around her. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and loved.
Mary will always be remembered as the “Queen of Weird,” a title that perfectly captured her one-of-a-kind personality, playful spirit, and ability to march to the beat of her own drum. She embraced being uniquely herself and brought laughter and fun wherever she went.
Mary will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
