Obituary

Mary Lisa McInturf, 65 of Newark passed away on October 10, 2025. She was born on September 22, 1960 in Decatur, IL to the late Henderson Walter and Louise (Haag) Denny.

Lisa was a devoted member of Rise Christian Church, where she co-led a Bible study and ministered to others. To know her was to be served by her. Always thoughtfully putting the needs of others before her own. Her love for history and beautiful things led her to become an avid antiquer and owner of Apple Crate Antiques in Newark. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—gardening, cooking, and spending time outdoors, but nothing compared to her love and commitment to family. One of her greatest joys was time spent with family and especially those who called her Granna. Her strength and faith were unwavering as she bravely battled cancer, choosing to praise God through every step of the journey, remaining joyful up to the very end.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jeff McInturf; daughters, Chelsea (Steve) Green and Callie (Jordan) Hampshire; grandchildren, Luke, Evelyn, Liam and Silas Green, Linea Hampshire and her newest grand baby Hampshire, due next spring; brother, Douglas Denny; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Samuel Green; and infant brother, Phillip Denny.

A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark with Pastor Steve Harley officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2pm prior to the celebration of life.
