Mary L. Schenk, age 61, of Newark, passed away in her home on April 6, 2024. Mary was born on August 22, 1962, to the late Donald and Wanda (Lucas) Moore, in Newark.

She was an avid reader who also enjoyed sewing and quilting. Mary loved spending time with her family. She will forever be remembered as a devoted grandmother. Her favorite activity was planning sleepovers for her grandchildren. Mary was employed at Newark City Schools where she met her dear friend Sue Read.

She is survived by her husband, Michael D. Schenk; daughters, Tara Schenk, and Julie (Joel) Metelko; grandchildren, Madeline, Megan, and Morgan Metelko; siblings, Kathy Hammond, John Wise, Donald Moore, and Kelly Moore.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, James Davis.

To honor Mary's wishes there will be no services held at this time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Licking County Library.
