Obituary

Maysel Edith Ida (Stone) DeLancey-White, age 86, died peacefully in the LMH Hospice unit on January 28, 2025. She was born January 24, 1939, in Lizemore, WV, to Charles Nelson and Elsie Lyda (Brown) Stone. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, John White; children, Cynthia Addis, Christine Patterson, and Charles R. DeLancey, Jr.; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and sister, June (Stone) Derwacter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Charles R. DeLancey, Sr., parents, and many loving relatives and friends.

Maysel was a skilled seamstress and craftswoman and worked at Meijer Shoe Repair, Marriott Upholstery, and Der Ver Ber. She was an impeccable homemaker with a passion for interior decorating, flower arranging, and culinary arts.

Maysel was a joyful, kind, and polite person to everyone she met. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, traveling the country with her husband, John, and spending time with her family. She loved being outside and spent every available moment curating her flower and vegetable gardens. Maysel's disciplined, loving nature was evident to everyone and her sincerity and sense of humor will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be forever missed by all - including her cats Tickle, Soxie, and Elvira.
