Melissa Michele Welch, 56 of Newark passed away on February 20, 2026 at her residence. She was born on November 29, 1969 in Columbus, OH.

Melissa worked in the billing department at Licking Memorial Hospital and later at Children's Hospital. Two of her favorite places were Key West and the Dry Tortugas National Park.

She is survived by her brother, Christopher (Robin) Welch; sister, Charlotte Young; nieces and nephews, Jenny Welch, Jack Welch, Faith Young and Coleman Young; and great-niece, Jules Young.

She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Cynthia S. and Lowell Morgan; and father, Robert P. Welch.
