Michael William Austin, age 69, of Newark, passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital Wednesday, April 15, 2026. He was born in Marion, Ohio on December 25, 1956, to the late Roscoe and Laurice (Goldsberry) Austin.

Michael was a fan of the Browns, Indians, and Buckeyes. He enjoyed wrestling and watching his grandchildren compete in wrestling. He was a life-long member and adopted family of the Neihart Road Gang, Ed, David, Perry, Rick, Jennifer, father, John, and mother, Barbara who always looked out for them.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Diane S. (Haines) Austin; children, Amanda (Brian) Justice and Jennifer (Corby) Baughman; grandchildren, Bryce, Addison, and Autumn Justice, and Emma, Aria Baughman; brother Phil Austin; brother-in-law, Doug Haines; niece, Hayleigh; nephews, Nic, Doug, Jr, Wyatt and several other nieces and nephews; the Brandt Family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Tyler Stalling; mother and father-in-law, Lois and Delbert Haines; sisters-in-law, Debbie and Sheryl; brother-in-law, Trev; best friend, Ed Brandt.

In keeping with Michael’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.
