Michael “Mike” Allen Richard, Jr.
A funeral service for Michael “Mike” Allen Richard, Jr., 53, of Newark, OH, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with pastor Bob McGee officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark, OH.
Mike passed away October 23, 2026, at Grant Medical Center. He was born January 4, 1973, in Newark, OH.
Mike was a 1991 graduate of Heath High School. He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother who cherished his family and friends. An avid pool player, Mike, was well known throughout the community for his love of the game. He also enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Heath Eagles.
Mike had a gift for conversation and never met a stranger. He was kindhearted, loved being around people, and treasured the friendships he made throughout his life. Above all, Mike loved and adored his children. He was not only their dad, but also their playmate and best friend. He especially enjoyed making memories with his younger children, taking them to the racetrack and spending time together swimming in hotel pools. These moments brought him joy and reflected the special bond he shared with his children.
He is survived by his wife, Jackqueline Renee (Darnes) Richard; children, Mikey Richard, Mackinley Richard, and Luke Richard; mother, Cathleen (Rees) Giblin; father, Mike (Connie Thacker) Richard, Sr.; brother, Todd Richard; sisters, Melody (Jake) Long and Harmony (Aaron) McDole; grandma, Janet Shugarts; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his all time best friend, Greg Betts.
He was preceded in death by his stepmom, Vicki Richard.
The family requests that those attending Mike’s services wear casual attire, as that is how Mike would have wanted it. They invite everyone to come as they are and celebrate Mike’s life in a way that would have made him comfortable.
