Michael Ray Sistrunk, Jr.

A Celebration of Life gathering for Michael Ray Sistrunk, Jr., 50, of Newark, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home.

Mike passed away February 3, 2025, at his residence. He was born April 2, 1974, in Brooks, MS, to Michael Ray Sistrunk, Sr. and Sherry A. (Whitaker) Whitten.

Mike graduated from Prairie View Academy in Louisiana and received his associates degree from Hobbs Junior College in New Mexico. Mike was a project inspector for ADR & Associates Ltd. He was a passionate LSU football and NASCAR fan. He loved fishing, playing on his computer, and cooking.

He is survived by his dad, Michael Ray Sistrunk, Sr.; mother, Sherry A. (Danny) Whitten; children, Casey Young, Paige Sistrunk, Jacob Grandon, Tyler (Alexis) Grandon, and Sebastian Grandon; grandchildren, J.P. and A.J.; sister, Michelle (Brian) Shelly; former wife, Amanda K. Sistrunk, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edward Arthur Sistrunk, Sr. and Betty Lee Sistrunk, and maternal grandparents, Jesse Logan Whitaker and Shirley J. Whitaker.
