Following a brief illness, Norma Lee Warner passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark, Ohio. She was born May 16, 1935, in Quaker City, Ohio, to the late Jesse Wells Warner and Zella Evelyn (Long) Warner.
She grew up on a farm in the Utica, Ohio, area and, after graduating from Utica Washington High School, she worked as a switchboard operator in the 1950’s for the Central Telephone Company in Utica. She then worked for the Newark Telephone Company in Newark, Ohio. Continuing in the communications area, she was employed by the Bell Telephone Company, Columbus, Ohio, where she retired after 36 years of service.
Norma enjoyed studying the Bible and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was known for her warm and friendly personality and had many friends over the years. She liked arts and crafts, cooking, and playing a variety of games, especially Bingo.
She is survived by her sister, Shirley Marie (Warner) Ford, three nephews and five nieces. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, James Willard Warner, and sister, Georgianna (Warner) Leasure.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, Ohio, where the funeral service will begin
at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens.
