Owen Dean Lewis, age 79, of Heath,Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 30, 2026, with his family at his side. He was born in Newark, Ohio on January 9, 1947, to the late Jasper and Lillian (Greene) Lewis.

Owen enjoyed softball, pitching horseshoes, and coaching girls basketball for Newark Catholic Jr. High School and High School as well as coaching football for Newark Catholic Jr. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vickie (Gutridge) Lewis; children, Jeff (Sharon) Lewis, Jenna (Tony) Stamper, and Jay Lewis; grandchildren, Megan, Dylan, Hunter, Isabella, Annalyse, Gabrielle, and Dylan, Kristen, Delaney; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Elle, and Wrenleigh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Darlene, Mary Kay, Stephen and Terry; daughter, Lisa McDaniel; father-in-law, George Gutridge.

A very special thanks to Hospice and his nurses as well as Father Anthony Dinovo and the James Cancer Center at Ohio State University.

In accordance with Owen’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.
