Obituary

Patricia "Pat" Ann (Campbell) Graham, age 81, of Newark, passed away Friday,  February 23, 2024, from pancreatic cancer. Patricia was born in Fontana, North Carolina on October 23, 1942, to the late Robert Cecil and Hazel (Parker) Campbell.

Moving frequently because of her father's work with his construction company, Pat attended schools in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, graduating from Newark High School in 1961.

Pat began her career as a Vari-Typist in the Drafting Department of Western Electric. Notably, while working for Western Electric, Pat became the first woman draftsperson. Pat was later promoted to First-Line Supervisor in the Wiring Department of the Western Electric Shop, a position which she enjoyed for 11 years, and then promoted to 2nd-level Manager with Bell Laboratories after they purchased Western Electric. Pat enjoyed and excelled through a very successful 34-year work career. After choosing to take early retirement, Pat took a year off from work to relax and play golf. After that year, Pat started a company called Faux Illusions, which focused on utilizing various artistic techniques to paint walls and objects to appear as such things as marble or stone. The name Faux Illusions turned out to be quite appropriate, as Pat's talent was so precise that it was often difficult to tell the difference between her painted pieces and the actual stones. Faux painting proved to be very enjoyable for Pat and she continued to perfect her artistic craft throughout the decade-long existence of Faux Illusions.

Patricia had one child – a daughter – Michelle Renee Royer. Michelle was born on February 15, 1968, and due to cancer, passed away on August 2, 2023. Michelle was 55 years of age at her passing.

Patricia is survived by her three siblings Roger Cecil (Deb) Campbell, Larry Richard (Jan) Campbell, and Lynda Susan (Hal) Porter, as well as her five nieces and nephews and four great-nieces and nephews.
