Patricia “Patti” Puckett Jewell Johnson
Patricia “Patti” Puckett Jewell Johnson, 82, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, after an extended journey with Alzheimer’s disease. In her final years, she received compassionate care at a memory care facility in Ohio, where she was treated with kindness and dignity.
Patti was born on January 11, 1944, in Nashua, New Hampshire, to Irving and Nancy (Romeo) Puckett. She was raised in Milford, New Hampshire, surrounded by her large extended Romeo family, whose close-knit bonds helped shape her lifelong appreciation for family and friendship.
While attending the University of New Hampshire, Patti met her first husband, Edmund “Ned” Jewell. Together they raised their twin sons, Brandon and Brian, in Dover, New Hampshire, where Patti built a life centered on family, education, and community.
For 32 years, Patti was an educator at Little Harbour School in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She was dedicated to her students and took great pride in her years as a teacher before retiring.
In retirement, Patti embraced new adventures with her devoted husband, John Johnson. Together, they enjoyed life in Nosara, Costa Rica, and Naples, Florida, while making regular trips back to the Seacoast of New Hampshire and coastal Maine to visit family and lifelong friends.
Patti loved being with people. Whether on the golf course, around the dinner table, or visiting with friends, she was happiest in good company and never in a hurry to end a conversation. An avid golfer, she was a longtime member of Cochecho Country Club in Dover and an active member of NHWGA, where she formed many lasting friendships both on and off the course.
Above all, Patti treasured her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, John Johnson; her sons, Brandon Jewell and his wife, Rochelle, and Brian Jewell; her grandchildren, Sarah Jewell, Ryan Jewell, Wren Jewell, and Seth Jewell; and her great-grandchildren, Gavin and Lucas. She also leaves behind many extended family members and lifelong friends.
Although Alzheimer’s gradually took many of Patti’s memories, it never diminished the love her family and friends held for her. She will be remembered for her love of conversation, the friendships she cultivated throughout her life, and the joy she found in being with people.
The family extends its sincere gratitude to the caregivers who cared for Patti with compassion during her final years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an Alzheimer’s organization or charity of one’s choice in Patti’s memory.
