Peggy L. Moore

A funeral service for Peggy L. Moore, 84, of Newark, OH, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Newark Faith Church, 261 E. Main St., Newark, OH, with Pastor Haley Akers officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2026, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 n. 21st St. Newark, OH.

Peggy Passed away August 10, 2026, at the Courtyard of Newark. She was born January 10, 1942, in Newark, OH, to the late Morgan Pierce and Evelyn Rowena (Wallace) Packham.

Peggy dedicated many years of her life to serving others through her work with Newark City Schools. She worked at Wilson Middle School as a school secretary, where she was honored as Employee of the Year in 1990. She took great pride in her work and was dedicated to helping students, families, and staff throughout her years of service. Peggy had a special heart for students who needed extra care and support, always looking out for those who had less. She later retired as an administrative assistant from ASC for Newark City Schools, where she made lifelong friends with Donna VanWinkle, Beth Emerson, Linda Price, Jean Brown-Pyka, Carol Davis, and Debbie Swinheart. Peggy was devoted to her family and cherished the time they spent together. She was a faithful member of Newark Faith Church, where she lovingly volunteered her time preparing church dinners for special occasions. Through church she made a strong and valued family friends with Cheryl & Glenn Deweese, and Candy Lane. She was also a member of the Monday Talks women’s group. Peggy enjoyed exercising at the Wellness Center at C-TEC and was a wonderful cook. She especially enjoyed preparing meals for her family and carrying on cherished holiday traditions. She was famous for her delicious rhubarb pie, a favorite that was enjoyed and fondly remembered by many. Above all, Peggy will be remembered for her caring heart, generous spirit, devotion to her family, and the many lives she touched throughout her life.

She is survived by her children, Amy (J.B.) Hayes and David (Nikki Blanton) Moore; grandchildren, Griffen, Sidney, and Grady Moore; brothers, Michael “Butch” (Barbara) Packham and Myron “Buck” (Mary) Packham, and several nieces and nephews.
