Randall "Randy" L. Holmes, 72 of Newark passed away on August 25, 2025 at OSU Medical Center. He was born on September 8, 1952 in Newark, OH to the late Milton and Patty (Brown) Holmes.

Randy graduated from Newark High School class of 1971. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1971-1973 and graduated from COTC in 1992. In his younger years, when he was able he enjoyed golfing, baseball and fishing. More recently, he enjoyed showing his 1939 Chevy all around the local area at car shows. He was also a member of the Moose and Eagles. Randy was devoted to taking care of his mother up until her passing in 2020.

He is survived by his half brother, Rick (Kathy) Holmes; nephew, Kevin (Deede) Holmes; nieces, Lyndsey (Daniel) Trope and Janae (Shawn) Bixby; and Linda Holmes; and friends, Kelly and Josh Robison.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Roger "Joe" Holmes and Jackie Dean Holmes; nephew, Jason Holmes; and maternal grandmother, Carolyn Brown.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Randy to the Newark VA Clinic.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Cedar Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
