Richard "Dick" Byron Bailey

Richard "Dick" Byron Bailey, a devoted father, respected professional, and passionate community member, passed away on March 31, 2025, at the age of 82.

Born on March 30, 1943, Dick dedicated much of his career to State Farm Insurance, where he was known for his integrity, hard work, and kindness. Beyond his professional life, he had a deep love for history, serving as the President of the Millard Fillmore Society, where he shared his appreciation for one of America's lesser-known presidents.

Music was another of Dick's great passions. He was a proud member of Spare Change, Village Voices, and Vintage Voices, three wonderful singing groups that brought joy to many through their performances. Whether harmonizing with friends or sharing a laugh over historical trivia, Dick's presence was one of warmth and wit.

Dick also had a lifelong love for cars, appreciating both their craftsmanship and the joy of the open road. Whether restoring a classic or simply admiring a well-built machine, he found great happiness in all things automotive.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kay Michele Bailey, his daughter Heather L. Bonner, his son-in-law David Bonner, and his most cherished pup, Millie.

Dick is survived by his children, Kathy M. Lynch (Jonathan) and Paul R. Bailey (Mena), as well as his grandchildren: Alan Bailey, Chris Bailey, Joshua Lynch, Matthew Lynch, Katrina Parks, Elizabeth Bonner, and Jacob Bonner.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Heath, Ohio, on April 12. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM with a service at 11:00 AM and fellowship afterward.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Lutheran Church in Heath, Ohio, Shrivers Hospice in McConnelsville, or the Alzheimer's Society in Dick's memory.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
