Richard K. Crabtree

A funeral service for Richard K. Crabtree, 76, of Newark, OH, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Alive Vineyard Church, with Pastor Steve Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Family will receive friends from 6  to 9 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2025, at the church, 7602 Stewart Rd. NE, Newark, OH.

Richard passed away May 11, 2025, at his residence. He was born April 22, 1949, in Springfield, OH, to the late Adrian and Janis (Smith) Crabtree.

Richard was a 1967 graduate of Springfield South High School, and he attended Franklin University. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran. Richard retired from DSCC. He was a member of Alive Vineyard Church, American Legion, and he enjoyed OSU football and basketball, golf, and bowling.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn S. (Ervin) Crabtree; daughters, Lisa Kattner and Lori (Joshua Smith) Crabtree; son, Michael (Mercedes) Crabtree; grandchildren, Caden Garman, Alyvia Garman, Wyatt Garman, Adriane Kattner, and Joshua Kattner; brother-in-law, Charles (Dianne) Ervin; sisters-in-law, Rozanne Pencil and Linda Ervin, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and Lloyd Crabtree, and sister, Betty Locke.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alive Vineyard of Licking County or Vietnam Veterans of America.
