Richard Foster, age 90, of Newark, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at Sharon Brooke. He was born October 29, 1934, to the late Donis and Mary Louise (Schott) Foster.

Richard was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving from March 1959 to April 1963. He always spoke of how proud he was of his country and his flag. He was born and raised in Coshocton graduating from Rosco High School, class of 1952. He was also a life long member of Prairie Chapel UMC in Coshocton, and a Kaiser Aluminum retiree.

Richard loved to gulf and read. He was avid about his walks to keep him healthy, it must have worked because he was just shy of his 91 birthday. His family was very important to him, he always stood by and supported us. He was surrounded by us through his final days. One day when I was leaving Sharon Brooke I gave him a hug and kiss and told him "I love you" he replied "I love you too, I won't forget you." Within 2 weeks he was asking "are you my daughter." I would smile and tell him "yes I am" he would respond with a smile. Yes dad I am your daughter and "I won't forget you", none of us will.

He is survived by his children, April (Terry) Allman, Gregory (Marla) Cooper, and Karen (Robert) Rowe; grandchildren, Brittany (Aaron) Root, Zachary Allman, (his special girl) Zoe (Justin) Allman, Travis Cooper, Stacy (Bryan) Gent, Marissa (Kevin) Daubenmire; great-grandchildren, Ethen, Owen, Waylon, Payton, Penelope, Cooper, Avah, Silus and Elijah; many nieces and nephews

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diana (Null) Foster; stepdaughters, Pamela (Cooper) Hupp and Kendall Cooper; twin sister, Rachel Garber; sisters, Donna Kuhn, Jennie Laughlin and Mary Wright; brothers, John Foster and Sam Foster

Visitation will be held from 10 am-12 pm Thursday, October 9, 2025, with a 12 pm funeral service at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st, St. Newark, Ohio 43055. A graveside service with military honors presented by the Licking County Veterans Alliance will take place at Wilson Cemetery immediately following the funeral service, Pastor Greg Cooper officiating.
