Rickey Springston

A funeral service for Rickey Springston, 73, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Frazeysburg Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2025, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.

Rickey passed away July 17, 2025, at his residence. He was born August 14, 1951, in Newark, OH, to the late Edgar Harley and Medrith (Moreland) Springston.

Rickey retired from Owen Corning. He enjoyed spending time at the campground, fishing, shooting pool, playing darts, golfing, and riding motorcycle. He loved his collection of beer steins, Cincinnati Bengals, The OSU Buckeyes, and he "loved his Blatz beer".

He is survived by his sons, Eric (Ling-Ling Chen) Springston and Danny (Nikki Stevens) Springston; grandchildren, Nathan and Kelsey Springston; sisters, Carol Minton and Mary Lou (John) Ellis; significant other, Sheila Gartner, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Sue (Summerfield) Springston; brother, Bill Springston, and brother-in-law, Tom Minton.
