Robert L. Blaylock, age 88, of Newark, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. He  was born in Tyler County, West Virginia on October 27, 1937, to the late Lena Blaylock.

In addition to his mother, Bob was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary, Sarah, Josephine, Janet, Thomas, Russell, and William.

He is survived by his special friends, Kathryn Hunt and Wada Cline whom he referred to as his buddies.

Bob grew up in Newark and attended Licco in previous years and currently attended the Gathering Place which he loved very much. He was always eager to go and patiently watch for the transit bus every morning.

Bob enjoyed celebrations, especially his birthday and Christmas. He was always happy, loved making crafts, painting, having balloons, and showing others his great creations.  Bob received a few years of care from Newark Residence Homes. He enjoyed spending time with his roommates. He will be missed by all at NRH as he was such a blessing to everyone he came in contact with. To know him was to love him.

Bob was dearly loved for his curiosity and joy. During his long and (jolly) life, he made a lasting impact on others with his positive outlook, penchant for celebration, and endless interest in the world around him. Bob's loved ones, supporters, and friends thank him for the life lesson he taught; Treat every day like it's your birthday!

Visitation will be held from 4:30-5:30 pm Tuesday, December 16, 2025, followed by a 5:30 pm funeral service at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st, St. Newark, Ohio 43055, Pastor Wally McLaughlin officiating.
