Robert "Bob" Meadows
A Celebration of Life for Robert "Bob" Meadows, 77, of Newark, OH, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Newark Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Josue De La Cruz officiating. Following the service Military Honors will be observed.
Bob went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 13, 2026, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born January 31, 1948, to the late Roy and Elsie (Hahn) Meadows.
Bob was a United States Navy Veteran where he served on the aircraft carriers, USS America and USS Forrestal during the Vietnam war. After his military service he worked as a Technician at the Newark Air Force Base and then as a Store Manager for Big Lots until his retirement. Bob had a servant's heart and enjoyed helping others. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time with family, and spoiling his dog, Maddie.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jan (Hankins) Meadows; son, Mark (Angela) Meadows of Bradenton, FL; daughter, Cathy (Gary) Ryan of Heath, OH; step daughters, Kris (Burton) Cornwell and Kim Keating; brother, Michael Meadows of Newark, OH; grandchildren, Taylor, Cassie, Rachel, Jared, Christopher, Mackenzie, Morgan, Madison, Tyler, Brooke, and Celeste; great grandchildren, Aubrey, Raelynn, Charlotte, Macie, Garrett, and Jade; daughter-in-law, Lucy Roback; nieces, Tricia (Shams) Khwaja of Fresno, CA, Mary (Dave) Montgomery of Oakwood, OH, and Ashley (John) Morgan of Newark, OH, and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda K. (Southard) Meadows; son, James Robert Meadows, and great granddaughter, Sawyer Rose.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Food Pantry at Newark Church of the Nazarene.
