Robert H. Carson, 72 of Newark passed away on June 15, 2025 at the Laurels of Gahanna. He was born on June 6, 1953 in Newark, OH to the late Russell H. and Lola J. (Garrett) Carson.

Robert graduated from Granville High School in 1971. He was a retired police officer for the City of Newark after 25 years. He was a member of the FOP. He loved music and playing golf. He never knew a stranger.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Cathy L. (Bailey) Carson; daughters, Amanda (Matthew) Phillips and Lynsi (Steven Ware) Thorpe; grandchildren, Jason (Mariah) Phillips, Brandon (Eo) Phillips, Mazie (Christian) Tietze and Kynadey Thorpe and twin great-grandchildren due in fall of 2025; siblings, Melissa Carson, Karla (John) Carson, Wendy (Bob) Kremer, Yvonne (Doug) Stewart and Chad (Angie) Carson; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Robyn Schweizer.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. The family will receive friends from 12-1pm prior to the service.
