Robert "Bob"
Dean Altman
Aug 7, 1956 — Oct 11, 2025
Heath
Robert "Bob" Dean Altman, 69, of Heath, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born August 7, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Francis Leroy and Ruth Deloris (King) Altman.
Bob dedicated over 30 years of service to Bayer in Hebron. A passionate bowler, he was well known around the local lanes and proudly held a record 803 series at Valley Lanes. Over the years, he bowled two perfect 300 games, two 800 series, along with a 299 and a 298, achievements that reflected his competitive spirit and love for the sport.
A devoted fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns, Bob also found joy in life's quieter moments—especially sitting along the Ohio River, watching the barges pass by. He loved coaching his sons in baseball from little league through their teenage years and was their biggest supporter in everything they did. His family was his greatest pride, and he cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Debbie; two sons, David (Kaylie) Altman and Mike (Sam) Altman; grandchildren, Gabe Jones, Trystan Ruckman, Caileigh Altman, Brooke Altman, Cameron Altman, Easton King, MacKenzie Altman, and Priya Altman; siblings, Larry (Sue) Altman, Anita (Kenny) Parlet, and Donna (Jodi) Holland; mother-in-law, Phyllis Parrish; brother and sister-in-laws, Jeff (Ronda) Parrish, Bruce (Debbie) Parrish, Laura McBride (Aaron VanAtta), Angie Skidmore (Larry Lilly) and Jennifer Barrett; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Hall, and his father-in-law, Buck Parrish.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob's memory to Wright Memorial Church, 735 Mt. Vernon Rd., Newark, OH 43055 and/or Brucker and Kishler Funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Petryk and nurses, Dr. Boateng and Davita Cherry Valley Dialysis, Premier Home Health, Wright Memorial Church and Licking Memorial Hospital.
