Obituary

Robert Gene Dickerson, age 95, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, in Heath, Ohio. With sadness, we announce the passing of our father, Robert, whom most knew as Bob. Bob lived a long happy and healthy life surrounded by friends and family. Bob was born on March 16, 1930, in Coshocton to the late Wesley E. and Ethel B. Dickerson.
He graduated from Coshocton High School in 1948 and later joined the United States Marine Corp. He proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War from 1950 until he retired in 1958. Following his military service, he co-owned The Donut Hole Restaurants located in Columbus, Newark and Mount Vernon, Ohio. Bob sold The Donut Hole (Newark) and headed south to Florida in 1977. He was a long-time resident of Nokomis, Florida, where he enjoyed the warm weather and lifestyle it has to offer. He met the love of his life, Karen and her two children (Paul and Kimberly). He continued to work in real estate and banking industries until he fully retired in the early 2000's. After the passing of his beloved wife, Karen, Bob returned to Ohio to be closer to his Ohio family in 2006. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his earlier years. Bob enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with friends and family. He did make the BEST donuts ever!
He is survived by his children, Diane (Steve) Hulett of Glenford, Ohio, Mark (Lori) Dickerson, of Newark, Ohio, Cheryl (John) DeLorey of Bradenton, Florida; stepdaughter, Kimberly (John Estupinan) Wright, of Fernandina Beach, Florida; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death  by his loving wife, Karen Dickerson; daughter, Sandra "Susie" L. (David) Molnar, of Hanover, Ohio; stepson, Paul Wright of Nokomis, Florida; granddaughter, Sarah K. Molnar of Savannah, Georgia.
