Robert "Bob" Franklin Sheets Jr. aka "Poppy", 83, of Frazeysburg, OH, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024 after bravely battling cancer for three years. He was born July 31, 1941 in Newark, OH to the late Robert F. Sheets Sr. and Helen M. Sheets.

Bob graduated from Newark High School's Class of 1959. He attended Perry Chapel Baptist Church. He grew up working on his family's farm and spent many fulfilling years working in sales at Sears, Belks in South Carolina, and more. He also successfully led his own contracting business for several years. He had a passion for hunting and fishing and found great joy in the outdoors. He passed down his love for nature, photography, and animals to his daughters and grandchildren, instilling in them a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around them. He was often seen with his camera in hand, eager to capture life's special moments. He had a remarkable talent for fixing just about anything and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Bob was also a dedicated fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns and even named one of his dogs Kosar after their former quarterback, Bernie Kosar.

He is survived by his four daughters, Tamara (Will) Brumfield of Newark, OH, Tracy (Mark) Crosby of Duncan, SC, Tricia (Bill) Mullens of Medina, OH, and Amanda Sheets (Brian Moore) of Thornville, OH; stepdaughter, Jennie Anahata; stepson, Jason Peck; six grandchildren, Rachel Brumfield of Tempe, AZ, Robert (Autumn) Brumfield of Phoenix, AZ, Ryan Brumfield of Newark, OH, Paige Crosby of Greenville, SC, Courtney Crosby of Greenville, SC, and Christopher Mullens of Medina, OH; brother, David (Vicki) Sheets; sisters-in-law, Molly Sheets and Mary Ellen Fields; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; past companions: Mary Ann Pursley, Marcia Gordon and Julie Sheets; and his loyal golden retriever, Shadow.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Tyler Crosby; brothers, John Henry Fields, Harold Sheets, and Jimmy Sheets; sisters, Caroline Warrick and Dorothy Malloy; brothers-in-law, Glenn Warrick and Herman Malloy; and treasured dogs, Buck and Champ.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Western Reserve, Gentiva Hospice, the Laurels of Mt.Vernon, OSU Wexner Medical Center, and Knox Community Hospital for the care he received.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., both at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, OH. A burial service will follow immediately after at Newark Memorial Gardens, 4244 Marion Rd. NE, Newark, OH 43055.
