Robert "Bob" Walter Hendren, 83, of Newark, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025 at his home. He was born August 10, 1941 in Newark to the late Walter and Corrine (Tope) Hendren and graduated Newark High School in 1959.

A devoted member of First United Methodist Church, Bob lived a life rooted in faith and service. A dedicated servant of the Lord, he found joy in giving time and love to others.

Bob retired from Rockwell after more than 30 years of hard work and commitment. Never one to sit still, he continued staying active after retirement by working at Dry Creek Concrete, Virtues Golf Course and Hinderer Honda. Always eager to stay busy and connected with people.

An avid golfer and loyal Ohio State fan, he especially cherished time spent with family. Whether on the course, watching a game, or simply gathered with loved ones, his greatest joy came from being with those he held dear.

Bob will be remembered for his steady faith, tireless work ethic, and warm, easygoing presence. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication to both God and family.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet; children, Julie (John) Scott and Steven (Lisa) Hendren; grandson, Jarod Scott; and great grandson, Jaxon Scott. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Hendren; and sister, Gloria Holmes; brother and sister-in-law Bill and Carol Toothman.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 from 4-7 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where the funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Barb Salyers officiating.
