Rodger H. McDonald, Sr.

A Celebration of Life for Rodger H. McDonald, Sr., 85, of Newark, OH, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Rise Christian Church (Licking Valley Church of Christ), 1578 Dayton Rd. NE, Newark, OH.

Rodger went to be with our Lord on February 20, 2024. He was born February 17, 1939, in Newark, OH, to the late Otto N. and Beatrice M. (Bowman) McDonald.

Rodger worked and retired from Big Bear Stores. Besides spending time with his family, Rodger enjoyed sports of all kinds. He especially enjoyed playing golf.

He is survived by his wife, Vonda Morrow; children, Katheryn (Tim) Robinson, Laurie Young, Rodger H. (Lisa) McDonald, Jr., and Scott (Dawn) McDonald; stepchildren, Michael (Michelle) Morrow and Andy (Cindy) Morrow; sisters, Sue (Fred) Wessinger and Brenda Ellas; brother, Dick (Paula) McDonald; sister-in-law, Barb (Dick) Powell, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
