Rodney Wayne Hendershot, Sr, age 65, of Newark, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, January 25, 2026. He was born in Clinton, IN on June 7, 1960, to the late Gene and Helen (Smith) Hendershot.

Rodney was a plumber who worked for Gutridge Plumbing for many years. He enjoyed reading, fishing, watching television, particularly Sci Fi, horror and fantasy shows. He had a silly sense of humor and liked to make others laugh. Rodney was always there to lend a hand to anyone who needed one.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Anna (Carter) Hendershot; children, Rodney (Cindy) Hendershot, Jr., Tabitha Wagoner, and Natalie Carter; siblings, Kevin Hendershot (Cynthia), Paul Hendershot, and Michelle Kiger (Tim); 3 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, and his special kitty fur babies, Tuffy Fluffy and Rosie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Hendershot; Aunt, Garnet Wiley.

A memorial service honoring Rodney's life will be held at a later date.
