Roger Alan
Lane
Sep 12, 1960 — Mar 28, 2026
Newark
Roger Alan Lane, 65 of Newark passed away on March 28, 2026 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 12, 1960 in Newark, OH to the late Willis Clyde and Patricia Ann (Kay) Lane.
He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Lane; daughter, Adia Monique Lane; son, Austin Lee (Charlene) Lane; grandchildren, Hunter, Elijah, Evelyn, Elizabeth, Maryann and Evan; sisters, Karen (Ed) Martin and Kimberly Lahmon; in-laws Krista (Mike) Parks, Jack (Denise) Elkins, Kandi (Mark) Irwin, Dusty (Amanda) Elkins, Mysti Garrette and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herschel and Naomi Elkins; and brother-in-law, Floyd Lahmon.
Roger was a member of the Christian Apostolic Church and retired from AEP.
He was a man whose presence brought light to those around him—always smiling, always ready to make you laugh, and always there when someone needed support or guidance. He had a natural way of making friends wherever he went, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Roger had a deep love for cooking, especially when it meant bringing people together. Whether it was for church gatherings or holiday meals, he found joy in feeding others and creating moments of connection both in the kitchen and around the table.
He was known for always lending a hand—to family, neighbors, and his church community. His life was a reflection of hard work, discipline, and unwavering faith. He didn’t just speak about his beliefs—he lived them in his actions and the way he treated others.
Above all, he loved God and carried that love into every part of his life. His kindness, generosity, and steady presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A memorial service will be held on April 26, 2026, at 3 pm held at the Christian Apostolic Church with Pastor Keith Sjostrand officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Christian Apostolic Church, 22 N. 23rd St., Newark, OH 43055.
