Ronald L. "Lennie" Ryan, 80 of Newark passed away on September 21, 2025 at OSU Medical Center. He was born on April 8, 1945 in Newark, OH to the late John Edwin and Roberta Ava (Hoffer) Ryan.

He retired from Matesich Distributing and was a longtime member of the Newark Eagles #387. For a short time he drove a tractor for Lynd Fruit Farm. He loved his coffee and donuts every morning and pizza every Friday night. He was an avid OSU fan and enjoyed trains and silent movies. He loved working, yardwork, gardening and taking his dogs to the river. He always carried his bible and read from it daily. He loved talking politics and was a jokester.

Most of all, he loved and was loved by his family, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Cooper.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Ryan; step-sons, Denny (Marsha) Hill, Dennis Hill and William Reid; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and brother, Ralph "Dale" Ryan.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (Hopkins) Ryan; daughter-in-law, Roxann Hill; brothers and sisters, John, Walter, Ethel and Mary Ann.
