Roy J. Alexander, 59, of Newark, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was born September 27, 1966, in Zanesville to the late Donald and Nellie (Ray) Alexander.

Roy had a deep passion for heavy metal music, a love that inspired him to found Licking County Metal Heads, a community that grew to reach more than 40,000 people. Through his enthusiasm and dedication, he connected countless individuals who shared his appreciation for music and friendship.

Known for his fun-loving spirit and generous heart, Roy cherished his roles as a husband, father, and grandfather above all else. He took immense pride in his family and found his greatest joy in the time spent with those he loved. His sense of humor, loyalty, and unwavering love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Stacy Alexander; his children, Eden (Michael) Alexander and Anthony (Megan) Maorui; his cherished grandchildren, Tobie, Cooper, Kaylee, Greyson, Lizzie, Harper, Chloe, and Jackson; mother-in-law, Beverly Chappelear and many other loving family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his sons, Levi Alexander and Jordan Chappalear; and father-in-law, Bob Brand.

Private services and burial will be held.
