Rudy Gene Cannon, age 73, of Newark, passed away at the Selma Markowitz Care Center Sunday, January 18, 2026. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on March 3, 1952, to the late Robert J. and Dale L. (Kirkpatrick) Cannon, Sr.

Rudy retired from Owens Corning after 35 years of service; he also drove water wells by hand. He enjoyed NASCAR, gardening, watching Gun Smoke, and listening to old country music.

He is survived by 3 siblings, George Cannon, Kathy Cannon, and Rebecca Cannon.

In addition to his parents, Rudy was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Robert Cannon, Jr., Barry Cannon, and Sherry Mautz; nephew, Robert Cannon III.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2026, with a 12:30 p.m. funeral service at Brucker and KIshler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st, St. Newark, Ohio 43055. A graveside service at Rocky Fork Cemetery will take place immediately following the funeral service, Pastor Robert McGee officiating.
