Ruth A. Young, 79, passed away on February 1, 2024, at Licking Memorial Hospital. Ruth was born on March 30, 1944, to the late Samuel and Eva Pearl (McQueen) Parkinson.

For many years Ruth worked at Holophane in Pataskala, as a Quality Control Specialist. She loved gardening after retirement. Her gardens were beautiful in every season. She was also an avid quilter making beautiful pieces for her family and friends. She loved playing cards, cooking and spending time with her special friend, Jarrel Haynes for the last several years.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Marsha (Thomas) Schulz; grandchildren, Mathew Schulz, Meredith (Stewart) Grant, Jack Schulz; sister, Jean (Joel) Lichtenstein; brother, John (Sheryl) Parkinson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friend, Jarrel Haynes.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, James Robert Young; baby brother, Everett Parkinson; sister, Marty Martin; and special cousin Joseph Parkinson.

A memorial service will be held at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home on April 5 at 11 am, where family and friends may call a half hour prior to the service.
