Ruth Ann Gainer, 66, of Newark passed away on March 2, 2024 at the Selma Markowitz Center in Newark. She was born on October 24, 1957 in Columbus, OH.

Ruth enjoyed gardening and loved watching her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Chad Michael Gainer, Brandt Lynn Gainer, Larry Ross Gainer, Tera Hawes, Kenneth Gainer and Tonya Taylor; many grandchildren; siblings, Rhoda (Robert) Bush, Raymond Burtnett and Regina Burtnett; mother-in-law, Helen Elam; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Catherine York, Debbie and Lester Henry and Teresa and Jack Endicott; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence "Mike" Elam and Ben Gainer; mother, Marilyn Ruth (Hutchinson) Burtnett; children, Ben Gainer III and Floyd Matthew Gainer; and sister, Rhita Gainer.

The family will receive friends from 11-1pm on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. Funeral service will be held at 1pm. Burial will follow at Obetz Cemetery.
