Sandra "Sandy" Marie Magers, 74, of Newark, died Wednesday, May 8, 2024. She was born November 20, 1949 in Mt. Vernon to the late Roy and Ocie (Wilfong) Whisner.

Sandy graduated from Utica High School class of 1968. She worked for 30 years at the Duke and Duchess on Rt. 13 North. She enjoyed sewing, cooking for her family, playing Bingo, listening to music and dancing. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them and her beloved dog, Radar.

She is survived by two daughters, Marlana (Gary Root) Magers and Melissa (Kevin) Waugh; three grandchildren, Jordan Magers, Chelsey Magers and Halie (Tanner) Haycraft; six great grandchildren, Luke, Maliha, Nova, Logan, Karter and Koleson; two brothers, Ron Whisner and Randy (Kathy) Whisner; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Magers; brothers, Roy Lee (Ann) Whisner, Richard David Whisner and Ricky P. Whisner.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sandy to Maci's Mended Heart Inc.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the St. Louisville Christian Church, 127 S. Sugar St., St. Louisville, OH 43071.
