Sandra J. Wright, 71 of Newark passed away on November 17, 2025 at her residence. She was born on July 14, 1954 in Springfield, OH to the late Francis Jack and Lorene (Williams) Matson.

Sandy attended Newark High School and COTC where she studied office administration. She was a nurse's aide for several years before working at Licking Memorial Hospital registration. She loved singing and was a part of CMFO. She was an avid Buckeyes fan. Sandy was a 2x cancer survivor. Her greatest love was her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, James Wright; sons, Kip (Kristin) Davis, August "Gus" (Michelle) Morton and Allan Jeffrey (Melissa) McLaughlin; grandchildren, Destiny, Summer, Caden and Zephyr Morton, Isaac, Trinity, Alyus and Averi McLaughlin; great-grandchildren, Serenity, Axton and Bryur; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandsons, Logan Kip Davis and Austin McLaughlin; and two brothers, David and Dale Matson.

The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
