Seth Tyler Brent, 29, of Granville, passed away tragically on Thursday, June 18, 2026, as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was born October 15, 1996, in Newark to David L. Brent and Janette (Boesch) Brent.

Seth worked in construction, a career in which he took great pride. He genuinely enjoyed his work, especially operating CAT equipment. Outside of work, Seth loved cheering on the Michigan Wolverines and listening to music. He was known for his sense of humor, his huge heart, and his kind and giving spirit. Seth was always willing to help anyone in need. Above all, he dearly loved his children and treasured every moment spent with them.

He is survived by his children, Michael, Mason, and Milani Brent; his father and stepmother, David and Connie Brent; siblings, Kala Elkins, Kyle Elkins, and Nikki Shaffer-Brent; step-siblings, Brandon (Lori) Scott, Jenifer Scott, Stefanie Scott, Claudia Scott, and Marla Scott; nieces and nephews, Nylah, Amari, Emonii, Lucas, and Oliver; uncles, Danny, Jeff, Vernon, Mike, and Chris Brent; as well as numerous cousins.

In addition to his mother, Janette Brent, Seth was preceded in death by his uncle, Vincent “Butch” Brent; maternal grandmother, Linda Boesch; and aunt, Debra Brent.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 3, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, where a memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Griffin Richards of Spring Hills Baptist Church officiating.
