Shirley Ann (Lambert) Ault, age 88, of Newark, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, at Licking Memorial Hospital Hospice. She was born on April 8, 1935, in Newark, Ohio, to the late Roland Lambert and Margaret (Haluczk) Anderson.
Shirley married the love of her life, Lewis W. Ault, on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1955. She enjoyed a long career with Park National Bank, retiring from the safe deposit department. During retirement, she and Lew spent lots of time traveling with Freedom Years, all across the country and abroad. They especially enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach every fall with friends.
She and Lew were active members of First United Methodist Church. Shirley was a member of many women's circles, Candlelighters, and helped with many other activities over the years. She enjoyed decorating, flower arranging, baking, shopping, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her brother, Jerry (Carol) Anderson; daughter, Annette (Pat) O'Reilly; daughter-in-law, Carol Ault; sisters-in-law, Jeannie (Jack) Hepner and Dixie Ault. Grandchildren; Casey (Jim) Sigler, Justin (Jill) Cullison, Leslie(Shaun) O'Hara, Shane (Erica) O'Reilly, James (Kaylyn) Ault, David (Samantha) Ault. Great-grandchildren; Seth, Kayle, Ivan, Josie, Emily, Gene, Charli, Liam, Addie, Byron, Andy, Ellie, Zeke, Eamon, and Siobhan (the twins), and Benny. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 wonderful years, Lewis W. Ault; her son, Lewis M. Ault; brother-in-law, Curtis Ault; and her stepfather, Perle (P.K.) Anderson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 11am-1pm at First United Methodist Church chapel, 88 N. 5th St., Newark, Ohio 43055. The funeral service will follow at 1pm in the church sanctuary with Pastor Barb Salyers officiating. A graveside service will take place at Newark Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to First United Methodist Church, The American Heart Association or Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Dr. SW, Heath, Ohio 43056.
