Starr Lynn Cummings, 80 of Newark passed away on June 7, 2026 at Ohio Health Hospice House in Columbus. She was born on February 15, 1946 in Newark, OH to the late Francis Devore Mechling and Mary Martha (Gutridge) Barrett.

She was a dedicated volunteer at the Midland Theatre. She enjoyed crosstitching, puzzles, playing cards, bowling and traveling on cruises.

She is survived by her children, Charles Francis Weikle, Jennifer Lynn (Rob) Pettet, Timothy Louis Cummings and Kerianne Cavin; grandchildren, David, Cory, Courtney, Samantha, Molly, Nathan, Aulin and Felix; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Audrey, Abel and Max.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Susan Kosman; and sister, Joy Diane Kopp.

A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm prior to the service.
