Stephan A. "Steve" LaRue, 68, of Granville, died Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at his home. He was born January 30, 1955 in Mt. Vernon to the late Jenoah and Wilma Jeanne (Peterman) LaRue.

Steve graduated from Utica High School class of 1973. He was a member of Fredonia Baptist Church, Centerburg Conservation Club, and the Ohio Valley Muzzleloading Club. Steve was a competitive target shooter, enjoyed hunting, participating in primitive reenactment, and competing in mini modified tractor pulling.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Yutta; sons, Joshua (Connie) LaRue and Jeremy LaRue; grandchildren, Margie, Tanner (Meredith Pierpont), Alexis, and Keely (Justin Fluhart) LaRue; great grandson, Carter Hess; and sister, Melinda Susan (Charles) Johnson.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Steve to a charity of donor's choice.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 1-3 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where the funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Pastor Cory Campbell officiating.
