Steven Nathaniel Veatch, age 85, of Utica, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024. He was born on September 12, 1939 in Knox county Ohio. He was the son of the late Charles Chaney and Ruth (Wonderling) Veatch. Steve was a 1958 graduate of Utica High School where he is a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame for football and track. He worked for Rockwell International in Heath for 35 years and Denison University for 8 years.

He enjoyed hunting, trap and skeet shooting and John Deere tractors. He was a member of the Martinsburg Federated Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #199 in Bladensburg Ohio and a member of the Scottish Rights in Cambridge, Ohio. He also served in the Army Reserves for 6 years.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn of 60 years, a son Greg Veatch of Gambier, Ohio and daughter Shellie (Sean) Durieux of Blacklick, Ohio. Two granddaughters, Baillie Durieux of Dublin, Ohio and Dara Durieux of Bowling Green, Ohio. Two sisters Connie Toney of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and Becky (David) Kellum of West Virginia.

Steve is preceded in death by his father Chaney, mother Ruth, sister Rosemary Veatch, brothers Wesley Veatch and Timothy.
